  • Director: Greta Gerwig
Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Timothee Chalamet
Running time: 2h 30 mins (the full running time, inclusive of trailers)

Greta has recreated a story that is just as relevant to us today.

We follow the lives of the four March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy from childhood to womanhood. Whilst their father is away fighting, the girls are determined to strife past their poverty and social expectations.

Following Greta Gerwig’s success with Lady Bird, who also starred Ronan comes a “passionately faithful and gorgeously original” in ode to the 1868 novel. Oscar expectations are looming for Ronan’s “fierce” performance as Jo March, Alcott’s alter ego, determined to live her life on her own terms.

In total, the feature has 6 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan), Best Supporting Actress (Florence Pugh), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Costume Design.
