Directed by Oscar-winner Tom Hooper (The King's Speech, Les Miserables), Cats is based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot and the stage musical by Lloyd Webber which was one of the longest-running shows in West End and Broadway history. Since opening in London in 1981, Cats has played to 81 million people in more than fifty countries, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time. It tells the story of a group of cats called the Jellicles over a single night when they need to make a ‘Jellicle Choice’ and decide which cat will go to Heaviside Layer and come back to a new Jellicle life.
